Tom Covell is responsible for the direction and oversight of J.P. Jenks and R.W. Sidley Distribution, including transportation, maintenance, safety/compliance, equipment, and personnel. His career in transportation and construction spans 47 years, having worked as a driver, heavy truck and equipment mechanic, job site supervisor, and finally, operations manager. Since many of R.W. Sidley’s precast structures are over-dimensional and heavy in weight, we rely on Tom’s expertise to plan travel routes, obtain necessary permits, and abide by state requirements, so each shipment goes smoothly. Tom prioritizes staying in daily contact with job sites and drivers to ensure our customers’ scheduling and hauling needs are met.

Like many Sidley employees, Tom appreciates the company’s family atmosphere and enjoys the constant motion of the business. The best advice he has ever received is “the only bad decision is the one that is never made.” When Tom’s not at work, he enjoys target shooting and attending car shows and automotive swap meets.
